Très bel exemplaire, bien lisible, doté d’une patine sable homogène qui met nettement en valeur l’iconographie pseudo-byzantine.

Ces fals arabo-byzantins du milieu du VIIe siècle illustrent la période charnière durant laquelle l’administration omeyyade poursuit encore les modèles byzantins, tout en amorçant une évolution vers un monnayage proprement islamique. Les types à figure impériale et grande lettre M dérivent directement des follis byzantins, mais leur style plus schématique révèle une transition culturelle et politique.  Une pièce idéale pour documenter cette phase pré-réforme essentielle dans l’histoire numismatique islamique.
